Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit initial license for individuals electronically.
  • Print license electronically.

Business Rules

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions, please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.

  • Applicants must not have an active resident state license on PDB in any state. If applicant holds an active resident state license on PDB, the Non-Resident Licensing (NRL) application must be utilized.

  • Public Adjuster applicants must have a pass required exam record on file before the application will be allowed.
    • Public Adjuster applicants reinstating an inactive license within 12 months of the expiration date are exempt from exam, but the applicant must be Continuing Education (CE) compliant.
  • Public Adjuster applicants are required to submit a bond in the amount of $50,000. Applicant is required to upload required documentation to the state via the NIPR Attachment Warehouse.

  • Applicants who are not U.S. citizens must provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. Please submit legible copies of documents establishing your work eligibility (e.g., Work Visa/Green Card) to the NIPR Attachments Warehouse Additional Documents.

  • Individual applicants must supply a residence and/or business address that is not in Illinois. If the residence address and business address are in Illinois, the transaction will not be allowed.

  • Applicant must be 18 years old or older as determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth.

  • P.O. Box or PMB (Private Mailbox) cannot be used in the residence address or business address fields. These are only permitted in the mailing address field.
