License management
Apply for a license
To apply for a license in Illinois, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth.
Renew a license
To renew a license in Illinois, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.
Print a license
To print your license, access your state’s license print tool and follow the instructions on the page.
Find current producer licensing information
Visit the Insurance Producers / Agents portal on the Illinois Department of Insurance (DOI) website.
Cancel or surrender a line of authority
To cancel a license or surrender a line of authority, mail a signed request to the Illinois DOI using the address at the bottom of this page. The request should include the licensee’s full name, license number, lines to be surrendered and licensee signature.

The Illinois DOI does not track changes to Owners, Partners, Officers and Directors.
