Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit renewals for business entities electronically.
  • Submit renewals for major lines of authority.
  • Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
  • Late renew through NIPR's Resident License Renewal (RLR) Application.
  • Print Licenses Electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit partial renewals.
  • Reinstate on NIPR. Applicant must complete with Sircon.

Business Rules

  • Variable Products line of authority applicants must supply the FINRA CRD number on application and hold Life line of authority on the resident Georgia license.

  • At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be provided on application and must have an active resident license in Georgia. Please see exclusions under DRLP Requirements below.

  • The DRLP(s) must cumulatively cover all LOAs requested on the application. The LOA must be active on the DRLP(s) license.

  • Every Non-US Citizen must provide a signed, notarized copy of the Citizenship Affidavit Form and a copy of one secure and verifiable identification document uploaded.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to any of the background questions supporting documents must be electronically uploaded via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse.

  • Applicants must submit all required documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse before the application can be processed.

Special Instructions

***RESIDENT LICENSING IN GEORGIA***

To apply for a resident license in Georgia (individual or business entity), visit the Georgia Producer Portal (Sircon/Vertafore).

Resident license transactions are not available through NIPR, including:

  • Applying for a new resident license
  • Amending an existing resident license (e.g., adding a line of authority)
  • Reapplying for an inactive resident license

Renewal Periods

  • Late Renewal (Up to 15 Days After Expiration):
    Business entities may renew an expired license through the Resident License Renewal application on NIPR during this 15-day late period. Additional late fees will apply.
  • After 15 Days (Inactive Status):
    Once the 15-day late renewal period has passed, the license status becomes inactive and is no longer eligible for renewal through NIPR.

  • Reinstatement is not available through NIPR. Applicants must contact the state’s designated vendor, Sircon/Vertafore, to pursue reinstatement or reapplication.
