Apply for a license

To apply for a license in Vermont, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth. 

Renew a license

To renew a license in Vermont, visit LicenseHub.

If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.

Cancel or surrender a line of authority

To cancel or surrender a line of authority, send the request as a voluntary surrender of license. The request must be signed and dated by the individual licensee.

Send the notification by email, as an attachment, by fax or by regular mail to the Producer Licensing Department. Use the contact information at the bottom of this page.

Report changes to Affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers

Send changes to Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs) to the Vermont DFR. The request must include the full name and license number of the producer(s) you are attempting to add or delete.

Send these changes by email to DFR.ProducerLicensing@Vermont.gov or by fax to 802-828-1633.

Report changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors

Changes to Owners, Partners, Officers and Directors do not need to be reported in Vermont.
