Other Important Dates
- Electronic processing through NIPR is mandatory and continuation invoices cannot be paid directly to the state.
- Termination notices for appointments that will not be renewed must be received by NIPR no later than 10:59 PM Central Time December 31, 2025, to allow time for processing before the renewal invoices are created on January 1, 2026.
- Companies will be billed for appointments that are active as of January 1, 2026.
- New appointments for Personal Lines, Property and Casualty submitted on or after January 1, 2026, will be included in the 2028 Appointment Renewal cycle.
- Invoices will not be available from 4:00 PM Central Time March 31, 2026, through 11:00 AM Central Time April 1, 2026, to allow invoice fee updates.
- All appointments will be terminated if the invoice is not paid in full by 4:00 PM Central Time June 30, 2026.
- NIPR will forward payment and renewal transactions to the state within 24 hours of that payment.
- Appointment Renewal and NIPR processing fees are non-refundable.
- If an invoice appears to be inaccurate, please contact NIPR Support at support@nipr.com for assistance before submitting payment.

NOTE: State fees are per appointment.

Non-resident individuals – business entity: $240
Resident individuals – producer: $80
Resident individuals – business entity: $200
Kentucky charges double the original fee and accepts late renewals from April 1, 2026, until June 30, 2026.
NIPR Processing Fee
Payment Methods: Credit card or electronic check only
- Credit card: There is a $60,000 limit on credit card payments. If an invoice exceeds $60,000, you must choose an alternative payment method.
- Electronic Check: These are no check fees for paying by electronics check. NIPR fees will apply. Checks in the amoung over $999,999 cannot be submitted to NIPR electronically . Companies will need to contact the state directly at DOI.LicensingMAil@ky.gov, make check payable to KY State Treasurer, and mail with a copy of the invoice from NIPR to KY Department of Insurance, Attn: Licensing Division- Company Appointment Renewal, 500 Mero Street, 211 SE, Frankfort, KY 40601. Please note companies only need to pay the state fee and not the NIPR tgransactions fee.

Rules and Requirements
Business Rules
- Failure to remit payment by the due date or late renewal date (if applicable) will result in termination of appointments. The company must submit new appointment requests for each producer they would like appointed with their company.
- Appointment renewal payment and NIPR processing fees are non-refundable.
- Electronic processing through NIPR is mandatory and renewal invoices cannot be paid directly to the state’s insurance department.
- Electronic payment options processed through NIPR will immediately reflect the invoices as paid. NIPR will forward payment and renewal transactions to the state within 24 hours of that payment.
- Once the invoice and list have been generated and made available to the company, the company will not be allowed to terminate any appointments on the list.
- If an invoice appears to be inaccurate, please do not pay. Contact us at Support@NIPR.com.
- There's no restriction on making changes to Kentucky appointments during the renewal period.
