Apply for a license

To apply for a license in Delaware, visit LicenseHub.
If you can’t apply for the lines for which you have qualified, contact the state to verify that they have received the exams and any necessary pre-licensing education completion information. Also ensure that they have reported this to NIPR with the correct last name, social security number and date of birth. 

Renew a license

To renew a license in Delaware, visit LicenseHub.

If you can’t renew a particular line offered via NIPR, verify that the line is actively held in your resident state. If the line is not held, you cannot request that line via NIPR.

Cancel or surrender a line of authority

Submit completed forms and supporting documents to the Delaware DOI via email or mail using the addresses at the bottom of this page.

Information updates

Report a legal name change – individual or entity

To report a legal name change for an individual or entity, complete the Request for Amendment form. Follow the submission instructions included on the form. 

Business Entity- The licensee must complete a 2C form and mail it to the Department with the $25.00 filing fee. https://insurance.delaware.gov/divisions/renewlicense/

Report changes to Affiliations or Designated Responsible Licensed Producers

For changes related to Designated Responsible Licensed Producers (DRLPs), send a written request via fax to 302-736-7906 or email to Licensing@Delaware.gov.  

Report changes to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors

To submit updates related to Owners, Officers, Partners or Directors, send a written request via fax to 302-736-7906 or by email to Licensing@Delaware.gov.
