Fees

Fees shown are state fees only. These fees do not include NIPR transaction fees.

  • All fees are charged per application.
  • The late renewal fee for insurance producer applicants will be an additional $25 per month for up to one year past license expiration date.

PLEASE NOTE: If you receive a duplicate application warning from NIPR, please STOP and call the NIPR help desk or the department’s help desk at 573-751-3518 to determine the cause of the warning and prevent duplicate fee payments, which may not be refundable.

  • Avoid these common errors that cause duplicate fee payments:
    • Applicant marked the incorrect line of authority when completing the application.
    • Applicant applied for a business entity producer (BEP) license that was already held by the BEP.
    • Applicant completed two (2) identical applications.
    • Applicant applied for a license they are not required to hold.

Rules and Regulations

Applicant Can

  • Submit renewals for individuals electronically.
  • Submit renewals for major lines of authority.
  • Submit renewals for limited lines of authority.
  • Submit renewals for Surplus Lines for individuals.
  • Late renew through NIPR's Non-Resident Renewal (NRR) Application.
  • Print license electronically.

Business Rules

  • Applicant's name, Tax ID, license number, and state of residence must match current Producer Database (PDB) record for resident state.

  • Applicant must renew all Lines of Authority (LOAs) at once for the particular license class being renewed. If applicant is not qualified to renew one or more of their lines for this license type at the time of renewal, they cannot renew electronically.

  • Applicant must not have a status of suspended, tax compliance, revoked, or tax compliance.

  • Motor Vehicle Extended Services Contract applicants may reapply through Non-Resident Licensing application the day after expiration date. New licensing requirements will need to be met.

  • Surplus Lines applicants must hold an active non-resident license in Missouri with Insurance Producer license class and Property and Casualty Lines of Authority (LOAs).

  • Insurance Producer applicant will be allowed to late-renew license electronically for up to one year past license expiration date. After one year the applicant may reinstate through the initial licensing application.

  • Surplus Lines applicants will be ‘mapped’ for Missouri non-residents. If the applicant holds an active qualifying Surplus Lines license in the resident state the application will be allowed. If the applicant does not hold an active qualifying Surplus Lines license in the resident state the application will be rejected.

  • Surplus Lines applicant can reapply for their license starting the day after the expiration date. Note: exam requirements and all initial licensing requirements apply for surplus lines reinstatement transactions.

  • Applicants must be 21 years old or older as determined from the applicant’s Date of Birth for the following classes: Bail Bond Agent, General Bail Bond Agent, and Surety Recovery Agent.

  • Public Adjuster applicants are required to submit supplemental documentation. Please submit the form located at (https://stateofmissouri.wufoo.com/forms/qu1vpmf0giihob/).

  • Applicants applying for the Bail Bond Agent, General Bail Bond Agent, and Surety Recovery Agent license classes must be US Citizen.

  • General Bail Bond Agent applications are sent to the state for review. Please submit the form located at (https://stateofmissouri.wufoo.com/forms/q1thbjc50davnvj/).

  • Surety Recovery Agent applicants are required to submit supplemental documentation. Please submit the form located at (https://stateofmissouri.wufoo.com/forms/q15caz5912cu31b/).

  • Navigator applicants are required to submit supplemental documentation. Please submit the form located at (https://stateofmissouri.wufoo.com/forms/q1orbvi817xcvel/).

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via 

    NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents are stated as follows and may be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax:
    • A written statement summarizing the details of each incident.
    • A copy of the petition, complaint or other document that commenced the lawsuit, arbitration, or mediation proceedings.
    • A copy of the official document, which demonstrates the resolution of the charges or any final judgment.
