Rules and Requirements

Business Rules

  • Failure to remit payment by the due date or late renewal date (if applicable) will result in termination of appointments. The company must submit new appointment requests for each producer they would like appointed with their company.
  • Appointment renewal payment and NIPR processing fees are non-refundable.
  • Electronic processing through NIPR is mandatory and renewal invoices cannot be paid directly to the state’s insurance department.
  • Electronic payment options processed through NIPR will immediately reflect the invoices as paid. NIPR will forward payment and renewal transactions to the state within 24 hours of that payment.
  • Once the invoice and list have been generated and made available to the company, the company will not be allowed to terminate any appointments on the list.
  • If an invoice appears to be inaccurate, please do not pay. Contact us at Support@NIPR.com.
  • Only appointments for producers with active licenses on the Producer Database (PDB) will be renewed.
  • Appointment terminations can only be processed for appointments listed as active on the PDB at the time the termination transaction is sent to NIPR.
  • Appointment renewals apply only to the Limited Lines Producer license class.
  • If you have a dispute regarding a specific appointment and have documentation verifying a prior termination, contact the Illinois Department of Insurance at DOI.Licensing@Illinois.gov. Disputes must be resolved before the appointment renewal cycle begins.
