NIPR Releases 2023 Annual Report

“This year, NIPR celebrated its highest revenue year in history and a major milestone: 100% of states now fully utilize NIPR for major lines products and services. NIPR’s product revenue increased by 7.5%, a result of our hard-working team and strong, trust-based relationships with regulators and members of industry allowing us to deepen our commitment to innovation and excellence,” said NIPR CEO Karen Stakem Hornig.

Key achievements include:

  • Revenue of $72.5 million, an increase of 7.5% over 2022
  • $1.29 billion in fees moved by NIPR to state Departments of Insurance
  • Addition of New York, Washington, and Kansas to major NIPR products
  • More than 8.68 million records accessible in the Producer Database, up 7.1% from 2022
  • Continuing Education (CE) transcript data now available in 26 states
  • The Customer Service team served the largest number of producers in its history.

2023 also marks the close of our strategic plan, Our Bridge to the FutureThe NIPR leadership team, along with NIPR’s board of directors, built upon this success and learnings to develop its new 2024–2026 strategic plan, Shaping our Future.

As we prepare to serve the insurance industry’s needs of the future, NIPR’s board of directors is excited to welcome new leadership, as the board elected Anthony Maddox, representing America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP), as vice president and Alaska Division of Insurance Director Lori Wing-Heier as secretary/treasurer of the board.

Larry Deiter, South Dakota Division of Insurance Director, continues to serve as NIPR’s board president. Deiter has served as president since 2019.
