KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 24, 2026) — The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) has named Evan Daniels as Chief Legal Officer. Daniels joins NIPR from private practice, where he previously served as NIPR’s fractional General Counsel. Daniels is a former Director of the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions (AZDIFI), during which time he served as a member of the NIPR Board of Directors. Daniels brings extensive and diverse legal, policy, and government experience, having represented insurance-industry clients in regulatory matters and in numerous roles with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office before his appointment to lead AZDIFI.
As NIPR’s Chief Legal Officer, Daniels will provide strategic legal guidance across the organization, support NIPR’s ongoing innovation initiatives, and help ensure the organization continues to meet the evolving needs of regulators, insurance carriers, agencies, and producers.
“Evan’s extensive legal, regulatory, and governance experience makes him uniquely qualified to serve as NIPR’s Chief Legal Officer,” said NIPR Chief Executive Officer Karen Stakem Hornig. “Having worked closely with NIPR as a trusted legal advisor, regulator, and board member, he understands our mission, our industry, and the critical role NIPR plays in supporting insurance distribution nationwide.”
“I am honored to join NIPR as its first-ever Chief Legal Officer,” Daniels said. “I strongly believe in what NIPR does to make producer licensing and compliance more straightforward and accessible, both for regulators and the industry. I saw firsthand as a board member NIPR’s commitment to serving its stakeholders through secure, efficient, and innovative solutions, and I could not be more excited to join this exceptional team full-time.”
