Applicant Can

  • Submit initial license for individuals electronically.
  • Submit major lines of authority.
  • Submit limited lines of authority.
  • Submit surplus lines for individuals.
  • Add lines of authority (amend) to an existing active license.
  • Reinstate/reapply through NIPR's Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.
  • Print Licences electronically.

Business Rules

  • Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.

  • Licenses with status reason of canceled for cause, revoked, and suspended cannot reapply for a license.

  • If applicant has status reason of failure to renew, they can reinstate through NRR within one (1) year of the expiration date. If over one (1) year, they go through NRL.

  • Surplus lines applicants must already hold at least one (1) active Property and Casualty appointment in Mississippi.

  • Automobile Club Agent and Legal Agent applicants are require a signed endorsement be faxed to the Mississippi Insurance Department. For more information, please visit Mississippi's state website.

  • Variable line of authority (LOA) applicants must supply FINRA CRD number on application.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents are stated as follows and may be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax:
