Insurance Producer and PA 187 Travel applicants that have been inactive for more than one year past expiration date may reinstate through (NRL) application.
Casualty Adjusters, MVPD Appraisers, Public Adjusters, Surplus Lines and Third-Party Administrators licensees cannot late renew. On the day after license expiration date, the applicant must reinstate through Non Resident License application.
Casualty Adjuster applicants cannot apply for more than one line of authority within license class on the same application.
Applicants renewing Insurance Producer Variable Life and Variable Annuity must actively hold or renew Insurance Producer Life.
Applicants renewing Surplus Lines must actively hold both single lines of Property and Casualty under insurance producer license class prior to submitting the Surplus Lines Broker application.
Casualty Adjuster, MVPD Appraisers, Public Adjuster, Surplus Lines, PA 187 Travel, Certified Insurance Consultant, Premium Finance Company, Reinsurance Intermediary Broker, Reinsurance Intermediary Manager and Third-Party Administrators applicants cannot enter 'Doing Business As '(DBA) name.
At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must be provided on the application, excluding Third Party Administrators and Premium Finance Companies.
Insurance Producer, Surplus Lines, Casualty Adjusters, Public Adjusters, MVPD Appraisers, Reinsurance Intermediary Broker, Reinsurance Intermediary Manager and Certified Insurance Consultant require at least one active DRLP's that hold same license type but do not require lines to match in order to renew.
At least one Designated Responsible Licensed Individual listed must have either an active PA 187 Travel or Insurance Producer license type with a Property, Casualty, Life, Accident and Health or Sickness or Personal Lines line of authority if renewing PA 187 Travel.
All Third Party Administrator applicants must provide complaint contact information.
Third Party Administrator applicants must submit documentation to the Connecticut Insurance Department as required by Connecticut Public Act 11-58 38a-720. Surety bond amount is $500,000. Attachments for "Yes" responses to questions 1-5 should be attached to the NIPR Warehouse. All other attachments should be scanned and emailed to: email@example.com.

The application information will be reviewed and processed by the Connecticut Insurance Department. Most applications will be processed within 7-10 business days. The applicant will receive email notification from the state once the LICENSE has been APPROVED. Check for the approved license at: www.ct.gov/cid. Under "General Information," select Verify and Print a License."
If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
