What is an RSS feed?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS), provides a quick and easy way to keep current on the latest headlines. RSS feeds are free, auto-updated content sent to your computer, or browser, from a subscribed website. Once you subscribe an RSS feed, you do not need to visit each website. Your RSS reader will receive and display the latest stories from those feeds and let you know when there is something new.

To subscribe an RSS feed, you need a "news reader". Readers are available as software you install on your computer, online as a subscription service, or part of modern web browsers.
