KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 28, 2014) — The National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR) today released its 2013 Annual Report highlighting the significant advancements made in producer licensing.

Last year, with the cooperation and collaboration of regulators and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), NIPR completed the implementation of electronic non-resident producer licensing and renewals in all jurisdictions. The online non-resident licensing application was established in 2000 and now encompasses all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands.

"NIPR marked a momentous occasion this year, with the completion of electronic non-resident producer licensing, which allows producers to apply for non-resident licenses and renewals in all jurisdictions from one source," said NIPR Board President and New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner Roger A. Sevigny. "This accomplishment advances NIPR's vision of one-stop shopping for all aspects of electronic producer licensing, continuing our efforts to make this service more cost-effective, streamlined and uniform for the benefit of regulators, the insurance industry and consumers."
