2017 Vermont License Renewal Ends

Producer Type Licenses and Business Entity Licenses


All active Producer, Business Entity, Bail Bond Agent, Title Agent, Limited Lines Producers, and Limited Lines Business Entities as well as Managing General Agent licenses will expire March 31, 2017 if not Renewed.


Per Vermont Law, there is no pro-rating of license fees and no grace period in which to submit a late renewal. If not renewed, the licensee will need to reapply for the license.


Renewal notices were EMAILED to all active licensees the first week of January 2017. Those that had not renewed as of February 21, 2017, have been mailed a paper notification.


All renewals must be processed electronically through NIPR.com or Sircon.com Licensees must renew prior to March 31, 2017.


Resident Producers Only: Your Continuing Education must be completed by March 31, 2017. You can submit your electronic renewal application even if you have not yet completed your CE requirement. Your renewal application will be placed in an On-Hold status. If you do not complete your CE requirement or request an extension by March 31, 2017, your license will not be renewed and will lapse. To view your Continuing Education Transcript, go to www.sircon.com to request an extension to complete your CE, go to the Department's website at www.vermontinsuranceagent.info and choose Check CE Credits.


Licenses issued AFTER April 1, 2017 will expire March 31, 2019.

Renewal Period

Adjuster Eighty-five (85) days prior expiration date. March 31st
Public Adjuster

Renewable license will no longer be available past the expiration date.

Adjusters renew every even year.

Vermont processes renewals on a two-year cycle, in each even numbered year. Applicant applying after March 31st (even years) will not have the full two (2) years until their next renewal.

  • Example 1: If an applicant applied on January 31st, 2016, their license would expire three months later, on March 31st, 2018. The applicant would need to renew at that time to remain active.
  • Example 2: If an applicant applied on June 30th, 2016, they would have their license for twenty-one (21) months before it expired on March 31st, 2018. The applicant would need to renew at that time to remain active.

Business Rules

Vermont cannot be used as a Designated Home State.

Reinstatements for adjuster licenses are not allowed. If the license is expired the applicant must reapply through NIPR's Non-Resident Adjuster Licensing (NRAL) Application.
