Primary Rules (Individual)

License Printing

The Virgin Islands does not offer online license printing. All licenses will be printed and mailed once they have been issued.

Business Rules (Individual)

Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.

Applicants must reinstate through NIPR’s Non-Resident Renewal Application if license is inactive and within five (5) years of license expiration date. Exclusions: Agent applicants.

Agent applicants must apply as new through NIPR’s Non-Resident License Application if their license status is inactive.

Applicant must not have another active resident state on the Producer Database.

Applicant must not hold an active resident Virgin Island license while applying for a non-resident Virgin Island license.

Applicants address must match current PDB record for resident state.

Applicants with a status reason of revoked or suspension-admin action cannot apply electronically.

Amendments are allowed on active licenses or when reinstating license.

If application is received between October and December, applicant will need to pay full licensing fee. No prorating and no blackout periods.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax. All other required documentation must be forwarded directly to the state.

License Printing

Business Rules (Business Entity)

Applicant must be one of the following legal business types:

  • Corporation
  • Partnership
  • Limited Liability Company (LLC)
  • Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)
  • Sole Proprietorship

At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer must be provided on the application and have an active resident or non-resident license in the Virgin Islands.

At least one (1) designated responsible producer must hold all lines of authority requested on the application.

Applicants with a status reason of revoked or suspension-admin action cannot apply electronically.

Applicants must reinstate through NIPR’s Non-Resident Renewal Application if license is inactive and within five (5) years of license expiration date. Exclusions: Agent applicants.
