License Printing

To print your license, click the state on NIPR's Producer Licensing Map.

Business Rules (Individual)

Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.

Variable contract applicants must have a resident and non-resident life line of authority (LOA).

Applicants for the variable LOA must supply FINRA CRD number on application.

Surplus lines broker applicant must hold a resident producer license with an equivalent property and/or casualty qualification in South Carolina.

South Carolina licenses are issued for two (2) years.

Applicant with a Resident SC license in "Inactive" status may not apply electronically if Status Reason is:

  • Denied (173)
  • Revoked (12)
  • Suspended (11)

NIPR does not charge a state fee if applicant has an inactive resident license with status reason of Lapse.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

Business Rules (Business Entity)

Applicant must be one of the following legal business types:

  • Partnership
  • Limited Liability Company (LLC)
  • Limited Liability Partnership (LLP)
  • Corporation
  • Sole Proprietorship

South Carolina licenses are issued for two (2) years.

Applicant must provide a valid email address and phone number.

Applicant with a non-resident South Carolina license in an inactive status may not apply electronically if status reason is denied, revoked or suspended.

NIPR does not charge a state fee if applicant has inactive resident license with status reason of Lapse.

At least one (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) must have an active resident or non-resident license in South Carolina.
