Primary Rules (Individual)

License Printing

Business Rules (Individual)

Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.

Applicants with a status reason of revoked or suspended may not reapply electronically.

Consultant applicants must provide proof of $500,000 errors and omissions insurance covering consultant activities.

Applicants for life settlement investment agent and applicants for the variable line of authority must supply a FINRA Central Registry Depository (CRD) number on the application. 

If you need to verify your CRD number you may use the Broker Search feature found on FINRA’s website.

Life settlement investment agent and life settlement broker may not hold active licenses simultaneously.

Adjusters and consultants may reapply after two (2) years of expiration date. If within two years of expiration date, applicant must late renew through Non-Resident Licensing Renewal application.

Producer applicants may reapply for a new license one year after expiration date. If within one year of expiration date, applicant must late renew through Non-Resident Licensing Renewal application.

Managing general agents, reinsurance intermediary brokers, and reinsurance intermediary managers must hold an active line of authority from the producer class.

Life settlement investment agent and life settlement brokers may not hold licenses simultaneously.

Applicants applying for personal lines may not actively hold or be applying for the casualty line of authority. Personal lines is included in the casualty line.

Applicant may not have more than one active resident license on the producer database.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax. All other required documentation must be forwarded directly to the state.

Business Rules (Business Entity)

Producer applicants must provide at least one (1) Designated Responsible License Producer on the application.

All designated responsible producers must hold an active non-resident or resident producer license in Oregon.

Adjuster, consultant, life settlement broker, third party administrator, vehicle rental company, portable electronics, and self-service storage license do not require a Designated Responsible Licensed Producer.

Applicants with a status reason of revoked or suspended may not reapply electronically.

Applicant must provide a valid business email address.

Life settlement broker and third party administrator (TPA) must reapply the day after expiration date.

Adjusters and consultants may reapply after two (2) years of expiration date. If within two years of expiration date, applicant must late renew through Non-Resident Licensing Renewal application.

Producer, Vehicle Rental Company, Portable Electronics, and Self-Service Storage License applicant may reapply for a new license one year after expiration date. If within one year of expiration date, applicant must late renew through Non-Resident Licensing Renewal application.
