Business Rules

Applicant must be eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.

All Independent Adjuster and Public Adjuster licenses expire on May 31 each year, regardless of issue date. This includes both first-time applicants and those reinstating their licenses. Unless the applicant needs a license immediately, the Mississippi Insurance Department suggests waiting until June 1 to apply for a full-year license.

In order for an applicant to designate a home state, the applicant must not have an active resident adjuster license on PDB (in any state).

The ADHS selected must have an active non-resident adjuster license on the PDB.

Applicant may select Mississippi as Adjuster Designated Home State while applying for their non-resident Mississippi license.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
