Renewal Period (Individual)

Business Rules (Individual)

Applications containing a non-uniform class or lines of authority (LOAs) will be deferred to the state.

Applicant must renew all lines under a license.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

Applicants renewing an Agent license that hold at least one (1) active appointment in Kentucky are not charged the renewal fee, but are charged the late fee if the license is renewed past the expiration date.

Kentucky no longer allows a grace period without a late penalty fee. The late penalty fee will be applied the first day after license expiration date until two (2) months after license expiration month.

ExpMth+0 = Expiration Month
ExpMth+1 = 1st day of month after license expire month (Late fee charged)
ExpMth+2 = 1st day of 2nd month after license expire month (Late fee charged)
ExpMth+3 = 1st day of 3rd month after license expire month (License cancelled. No renewal allowed. Applicant will have to apply as new)

Business Rules (Business Entity)

Applicants must include "DOI" in front of the Kentucky license number in order to sign-in to NIPR's licensing applications.

Applicant's Tax ID, license number, and addresses must match current Producer Database (PDB) record for resident state.

Applicant's state of residence must match current PDB record.

There must be no serious:

  • Regulatory Information Retrieval System (RIRS) actions for the applicant since last renewal.
  • Special Activities Database (SAD) actions for the applicant since last renewal.

If so, please contact the state for assistance.
