Renewal Period (Individual)

All License Classes Sixty (60) days prior to expiration date. Expiration date. One (1) year past expiration date.

Business Rules (Individual)

Applicant must not have any serious RIRS actions or 1033 actions since last renewal or initial application. Contact the state for additional information, if applicable.

Applicant must be in continuing education (CE) compliance in order to renew license.  Please allow up to two (2) to three (3) business days from date compliance shows met on your SBS CE transcript to be able to submit renewal.  In order to be in CE compliance, the following license classes/lines of authority must have (36) total credit hours in which (3) of the hours are Ethics to renew:  Life, Accident & Health, Property, Casualty and Personal Lines.   At least (18) of the required (36) credit hours must be from classroom method.  The license class/LOA of Crop, must have (18) total credit hours in which (3) of the hours are Ethics to renew.

All Public Adjuster applications are deferred to the state for Proof of Financial Responsibility. See Iowa Administrative Code 191-55.10(82GA, HF499) Evidence of Financial Responsibility.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

Business Rules (Business Entity)

Late renewals are not allowed for Business Entity Producer license type. After expiration date, Business Entity Producers must apply through Resident License (RL) Application.

One (1) Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) that holds an active resident or non-resident license in Iowa is required on the application with the exception of Third Party Administrators.
