Public Adjuster

  • Fee: $50.00
  • Reinstatement Fee: $50.00
  • Please note that license class names can vary by state.
  • Applications for Other lines of authority will defer to state for approval.

  • No Line of Authority Required.

Applicant Can

  • Submit adjuster for individuals electronically.
  • Reinstate a license electronically.
  • Add lines of authority to an existing active license electronically.
  • Print licenses electronically.

Applicant Cannot

  • Submit Adjuster Designated Home State (ADHS) electronically.

Business Rules

  • Applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant's date of birth.

  • Applicant's name, birth date, license number, state of residence, Tax ID, and National Producer Number (NPN) must match current Producer Database (PDB) record for resident state, if applicable.

  • Applicant may not apply for a license in their own resident state.

  • Applicant must not have serious Regulatory Information Retrieval System (RIRS) actions or 1033 actions. If so, please contact the state for additional assistance.

  • Licenses expired for more than 365 days from expiration will be able to reinstate through Non-Resident Adjuster Licensing application as long as the license status is 'expired'.

  • Licenses within 365 days from expiration will need to submit a Non-Resident Adjuster Renewal application as long as the license status is inactive and status reason is something other than 'expired'.

  • Public Adjuster applicants must submit Proof of Financial Responsibility to the state. See Iowa Administrative Code  191—55.10 (82GA, HF499) Evidence of financial responsibility.

  • All transactions are deferred to the state for review.

  • If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachment Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
