Renewal Period (Individual)

License Class Renewal Period Begins Renewal Period Ends Late Renewal Period
All License Classes offered through RLR Ninety (90) days prior to expiration. License Expiration Date Starts the day after license expiration date, up to one (1) year past license expiration date.

Business Rules (Individual)

Applicant must not hold another active resident license in another state.

Applicant's birth date must match current PDB record for resident state

P.O. Box or PMB (Private Mailbox) cannot be used for either residence or business address.

All instances of phone number must be a valid 10 digit phone number (extensions are allowed).

Applicant's Resident Arizona license must not have the following status reasons:

  • Surrendered (PDB Code 15)
  • Suspended (PDB Code 3629)
  • Revoked (PDB Code 12)
  • Deceased (PDB Code 23)
  • Refuse to Renew (PDB Code 1930)
  • Military  (PDB Code 1528)

Applicants renewing Variable Life and Variable Annuity must also renew Life Line of Authority (LOA) at the same time.

Applicants renewing for Navigator license must have at least one entry on the Affiliations section of the application that is actively licensed as a Navigator in Arizona.

An Arizona-licensed insurance professional must:

  • Report changes of address, name changes, or changes to a business entity's principals (officers, members, directors, designated responsible producer, etc.) within thirty (30) days. ARS § 20­286(C).
  • Report administrative actions within thirty (30) days after the final disposition of the case. ARS § 20­301(A).
  • Report criminal prosecutions within thirty (30) days after the pretrial hearing, indictment or judgment, whichever is first. ARS § 20­301(B).
  • Renew the license prior to its expiration. Whether the Department of Insurance, as a courtesy, notifies a licensee of an upcoming license expiration, the licensee is solely responsible for fulfilling all license renewal requirements prior to the license expiration.
  • Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge. Use the Arizona Department of Insurance state website as a resource for Arizona laws, rules, regulatory bulletins, and other important information.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
