Arizona to convert to State Based Systems (SBS). Effective 6:00 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, April 11th, 2017, processing of all Arizona Gateway applications will be temporarily suspended. Gateway processing is expected to resume on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017.

 

NIPR will be reloading Arizona data for display on PDB during the SBS conversion. Arizona PDB data will be frozen as of Wednesday, April 12th 2017. PDB data will be converted and ready for display on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017

Renewal Period (Individual)

License Class Renewal Period Begins Renewal Period Ends Late Renewal
All License Classes Ninety (90) days prior to expiration. Biennially by birth month and year. The day after expiration date up to one (1) year.

Business Rules (Individual)

Applicants with a status reason of revoked by order, suspended, military or surrendered license may not reapply electronically.

Applicant must provide a valid ten (10) digit business phone number.

Electronic renewals must be renewed for all lines. Partial renewals are not accepted for the state.

All lines of authority must be CE compliant before allowed to submit a renewal application through NIPR. Exception: The Adjuster LOA does not require CE.

An Arizona-licensed insurance professional must:

  • Report changes of address, name changes, or changes to a business entity’s principals (officers, members, directors, designated responsible producer, etc.) within thirty (30) days. ARS § 20­286(C).
  • Report administrative actions within thirty (30) days after the final disposition of the case. ARS § 20­301(A).
  • Report criminal prosecutions within thirty (30) days after the pretrial hearing, indictment or judgment, whichever is first. ARS § 20­301(B).
  • Renew the license prior to its expiration. Whether the Department of Insurance, as a courtesy, notifies a licensee of an upcoming license expiration, the licensee is solely responsible for fulfilling all license renewal requirements prior to the license expiration.
  • Maintain and apply up-to-date knowledge. Use the Arizona Department of Insurance state website as a resource for Arizona laws, rules, regulatory bulletins, and other important information.

P.O. Box or PMB (Private Mailbox) cannot be used for either residence or business address.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.
