Renewal Period (Individual)

License Class Renewal Period Begins Renewal Period Ends
All License Classes Ninety (90) days prior to expiration date. Quadrennially on last day of birth month.

Business Rules (Individual)

If a licensee surrenders an authority or a license they may not reapply for that same authority or license for one (1) year.

Licensees can late renew an inactive license for up to one year past license expiration date. After one year, applicant must reinstate or reapply through the Non-Resident License (NRL) Application.

Applicant must provide a valid resident and business phone number.

P.O. Box or PMB (Private Mailbox) cannot be used for either residence or business address.

Renewal due dates are extended (without penalty) for individuals ordered into active military service. Applications from individuals who renew under the active military service statute have additional requirements and must submit paper application to the Arizona Department of Insurance.

Variable lines does not include life in Arizona.

Surplus lines does not include property and casualty in Arizona.

Surplus lines, mexican insurance broker and adjuster lines of authority (LOAs) require paper applications. Visit the producers page on the Arizona Department of Insurance state website.

If applicant responds "yes" to one of the background questions please submit supporting documents electronically via NIPR's Attachments Warehouse. The documents may also be submitted to the state via mail, email, or fax.

Designated Responsible Licensed Producer (DRLP) entered must have an active resident or non-resident license prior to license submission. The only exception to this rule is when application is for the following LOAs: rental car agent, title agent, portable electronic agent, or self storage agent. If one (1) is entered, allow, but not required
