Business Rules

A P.O. Box is only accepted for the mailing address.

Applicants who are non-citizen must provide a copy of work authorization or green card.

Applicant must be eighteen (18) years old or older as determined from the applicant’s date of birth.

No exam is required for a Crop Adjuster.

Reapplications are allowed one (1) year after license expiration date.

If applicant designates Arkansas as designated home state (DHS) for the adjuster license class, exam is required and they must complete the online form for a criminal background investigation before a license will be issued. The form can be found at https://www.ark.org/background-check/index.php/home/index/aid.

Adjuster Designated Home State (ADHS) Rules:

  • The ADHS selected must have an active non-resident adjuster license on the PDB.
  • The adjuster applicant can only choose a DHS in a state where they took/passed the exam.
  • In order for an applicant to designate a home state, the applicant must not have an active resident adjuster license on PDB (in any state) or application will be declined.
  • If designated home state license is inactive at the time of application, applicant may select another non-resident state with an active adjuster license as the designated home state. 
  • If applicant holds only an active insurance producer (non-adjuster) resident license in a state that does not offer adjuster licensing, and is using current Resident Producer (non-adjuster) license to apply for non-resident adjuster license, application will be declined.
  • If designated home state license is inactive at the time of application, applicant may select another non-resident state with an active adjuster license as the designated home state. 
  • If applicant holds an active Resident Producer (non-adjuster) license in a state that licenses resident adjusters and is designating an active non-resident adjuster license as their home state license, application will defer for review.
  • Applicant may select Arkansas as Adjuster Designated Home State while applying for their non-resident Arkansas license.
